Francis Darville - Renown Medium and So Much More

A character and graphic design study for Francis Darville, resident spiritualist and shaman of the Yehey Expedition.  This would be a poster, lobby card or flyer for one of his live public seances, and is inspired by vintage posters and adverts.  Francis is a man of many talents, namely that of shamanistic practices and being a medium that can communicate with the dead.  He's quite the showman!  But this a gross exploitation of his spiritual prowess. However a man's gotta eat...or, not really since he's a living mummy, but you get the idea.

New Animation Pre-visuals

Ahoy, all! It's been a while. However we've been keeping busy, and I'm happy to announce that the official "The Lost Land of Yehey" trailer is slowly coming to fruition. That's right, there's a trailer...cause our story is so epically awesome that it warrants one. The following are screenshots from our pre-visuals or animatic for the trailer. I'm currently working on all the final animation.

Lolo Polaroid
Here we have a polaroid of Chechi and her grandfather pinned to an old map. "A map of what?" You ask. Well, you'll see.

Pirate Crew
A shot of an infamous pirate crew that our heroes encounter. Friends or foes? You'll find out soon enough.

Sea Monster
Oh snap, it's a sea monster! No high seas adventure is complete without sea monsters. Who knew seahorses could get this big?! So that's what I got for you. Stay tuned!

Homesville - Where You'e Always at Home

Small Town
Here is the first official illustration of Markus and Chechi's hometown, appropriately named "Homesville." It is as quaint as it looks.  As you can imagine, there's probably not much to do here except work and... well...ride horses...maybe?

The Renaissance Man of Mechanics

Gisangnim
Allow me to introduce you to Kisanim (기사님), which isn’t a name at all. It actually means “driver” in Korean. This character is based off of the driver of "The Magic English Bus," my first teaching gig in Korea. But seriously, the entire Magic English Bus staff actually called him “kisanim.” He was an older gentleman whose real name I never knew. He was very sweet and was a real problem solver when it came to mechanics. So in the world of Yehey, Kisanim is a stoic genius that can drive and repair anything from buses and tanks, to planes and ships. He very rarely speaks, but when he does it’s always in Korean, and worth listening to.

Markus and Mordy - “Hushed Excitement”

Warmin' up in Flash usually results in silly and useless animations like this; which perfectly convey my “hushed excitement ” over finishing any Flash project, great or small. I’m a dork!

Meeting Sasquatch

Meeting Sasquatch
Finished! Finally cleaned up all the colors, and inked the characters' interior-lines.  I also added some lighting effects and a bit of noise to add some texture. So finally our two adventurers finally meet the illusive Sasquatch. He’s definitely a nice guy, really down to earth. We made plans to go grab a pizza later this week...no pepperoni though.  He's a vegetarian.
